Senior Trading Desk Quant

We are seeking a Senior Quant to work in partnership with our execution sales team, overseeing strategic initiatives that enhance our electronic credit trading platform. This role is designed for a seasoned professional who excels in quantitative finance, has a profound understanding of fixed income markets, and possesses a robust background in machine learning and data science.

The problems you will  work on will rarely have clean, definitive answers, and they will require working with people across the firm with different areas of expertise. Your success in this role will depend on your ability to balance expertise and intellectual rigor with an open mind to a variety of techniques and modes of thinking. You will work alongside experienced traders and product managers day in and day out in our efforts to design new ways to service the credit markets.

This role will require that you develop and defend your own opinions about the topics you’re asked to investigate and place you in the room where key strategy decisions are being debated. This offers you the chance to collaborate with the top minds in fixed income to make a meaningful impact on a company leading the way towards the future of intelligent electronic credit trading.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Assist the quantitative research team in developing and implementing advanced models and analytics that influence trading strategies and decision-making processes.
  • Innovation in Quantitative Methods: Spearhead the development of proprietary algorithms and machine learning models that enhance market prediction accuracy and trading efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Data, and Engineering teams to craft and refine tools that advance trading capabilities. Influence product development and strategic direction through data-driven insights and analytics.
  • Advanced Analytics: Lead the validation and creation of security-level analytics for corporate bonds.
  • Team Development: Mentor and develop a team of quants and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and rigorous analytical assessment.

Must-Have Qualifications and Skills:

  • Expertise in Markets: Deep knowledge and substantial experience in capital markets, with a track record of leveraging market insights to drive decisions.
  • Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to lead a team, influence cross-functional initiatives, and articulate complex quantitative concepts to non-experts.
  • Extensive Quantitative Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a quantitatively-focused role within a financial institution or technology firm, with a strong preference for those with sell-side or asset management backgrounds.
  • Educational Foundation: Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Statistics.

Nice-To-Have Qualifications and Skills:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field
  • Experience training and deploying machine learning models
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses, especially Google BigQuery
  • Experience with dbt or other batch ETL frameworks
  • Experience with distributed compute frameworks like Spark, Dask, etc.

In compliance with New York City Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role in New York City is between $175,000 and $250,000. This range does not include discretionary bonus or other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this job. Several factors are considered when determining a candidate’s compensation.
