What will you do in this role?

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our innovative financial technology company. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to support our rapid growth and evolving needs. This role requires a deep understanding of network architecture in various public cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, and Azure, along with expertise in network automation and troubleshooting.

  • Design and Implement Network Architecture:
    • Develop and implement network architectures in public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
    • Optimize network performance, reliability, and scalability to meet the needs of a dynamic financial technology environment.

  • Network Security Management:
    • Manage network security across public cloud platforms and on-premises infrastructure.
    • Configure and maintain security components using  Palo Alto Firewalls, Panorama, Zscaler, and Meraki.

  • Routing, Switching, and Protocol Expertise:
    • Implement and manage layer 3 routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and Layer 2 protocols (e.g., STP, VLANs, MPLS).
    • Install and Configure routing and switching, specifically with Cisco technologies.
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex networking issues.

  • Network Automation and Scripting:
    • Manage networks using automation and infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
    • Use PowerShell and Bash for network automation and operational tasks.

  • Legacy and Public Cloud Network Troubleshooting:
    • Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining legacy on-prem network setups.
    • Diagnose and resolve issues in public cloud network security environments.

  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
    • Work closely with other IT teams, including cloud engineers and system administrators, to ensure a cohesive and secure infrastructure.
    • Provide technical leadership and guidance in network-related decisions and strategies.

  • Compliance and Best Practices:
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in network architecture and security.
    • Stay update-to-date with the latest developments in cloud networking technologies and cybersecurity trends.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on public cloud platforms.
  • Deep understanding of network security principles and tools, including experience with CSPs, on-prem, and vendors like Palo Alto, Zscaler, and Meraki.
  • Proven expertise in routing and switching, particularly with Cisco technologies.
  • Experience with network automation using Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, and Bash.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting legacy on-prem network setups and public cloud network security.
  • Certifications in AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar cloud platforms are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

In compliance with New York City Pay Transparency Law, the base salary range for this role in New York City is between $125,000 - $200,000. This range does not include discretionary bonus or other forms of compensation or benefits offered in connection with this job. Several factors are considered when determining a candidate’s compensation.
